Just at a time when America is struggling to emerge from the current economic crisis while not trashing their own currency, Russia has decided to step in and make this task even more daunting.

Russian game maker Gala-net reportedly plans to unleash their new game Allods (which we assume is an acryonym for: All Love Lenin's Opulent [software] Designs) on the unsuspecting populace sometime this winter.  The game will apparently be free to play and has a beta test opening on November 10th.  We were not invited to participate in this test for obvious reasons.

This game represents a two-fold attack on the American (possibly world) economy.  Workers already burdened with trying to take up the slack for others who were deemed unnecessary to their jobs functioning will not be able to cope with also managing their online lives.  Those who were discouraged from signing up for WOW because the price proved too great for them will now be compelled by their cheapness to play this game.   This game represents the greatest Russian threat to American productivity since Tetris.  Interestingly enough, Tetris was created in 1984, when we were recovering from another severe recession.

Additionally, where Americans used to spend their money on WOW accounts or buying level 70 wizzard-trolls from teenagers, they will now be compelled to play Allods for free and buy their characters from Russian teenagers.  Publisher Activision has already been laying off people this year and the impact of a competing WOW-style game can't be good.  What's next, a free Russian Balalaika hero game?  The website is already registered and features both this Russian guitar-style instrument and a mig-21 fighter.  Could this be a signal to WOW sleeper cells?  Keep vigilant for further productivity pwnage.
