Apple Macintosh, Ipod, Iphone, these products all bring to mind solid design, and a very enviable form factor. Another thing they bring to mind, however, is the fact that all hardware and a good deal of their software is controlled by one central organization. Mac Collective members may say of their precious hardware that "it never freezes", or that it's "soo easy to use", but if so why are there websites like this one that tell you what to do when your Mac crashes?
Regardless of if they crash less than PC products (which is debatable), when you "own the means of production" it would obviously be easier to engineer something that works consistently across the board. The down side to this, just like communism, is that you don't have the grass-roots innovation that comes from a free market (like a mouse with 2 buttons). This explains why software packages have remained more limited for Apple products than for a PC. Additionally, as price competition continues to make PCs more affordable while the technology improves, Macs tend to stay expensive compared to their PC rivals.

One may counter, however, that Apple embraces free market principles with their "App Store" which allows small companies or even individuals to develop their own software packages. Interestingly enough it only took them 25 years for them to come up with this free "market" idea. Or is it actually a free market idea?
There are several barriers to developing programs for Iphones. The first barrier is that all apps must be programmed in Objective C (not a more common language like JAVA), which pretty much only Apple uses. Another thing that can really discourage development is the threat that if one is developing an app, Apple has the option of deciding not to publish it. Additionally, it's possible Apple or that the Mac Programming Collective will come out with your app for free before you get a chance to profit from it.
Oh, and did we mention that Apple happily sells the Communist Manifesto as an app on it's store. However, it decided to reject such apps as: "Obama Trampoline", "My Shoe", and "The South Park App".
Additionally, according to , freeagair.com in order to obtain a Pinko Iphone one must present:
Credit card,
Social Security number,
Government-issued photo ID,
AT&T Wireless Account
Pass a credit check
And be at least 18 years old
This is probably just for tracking purposes should you try to jailbreak your phone or try to leave the Mac Collective.
One final thought comes from pcworld.com, which states that "Apple's New Patent is Patently Crazy - Analysis: Jobs&Co. have filed for a patent on tech that embeds ads into operating systems and makes you prove you've watched them." Well that's nice. This article goes so far as to say that the Technology can freeze until the uses pushes a button or even answer a test question to prove that the commercial has been watched.
So once you've gotten your device that uses this technology, if you get too many questions wrong your device could freeze up. That's the plan for now. One can only theorize what would happen once this technology is firmly embedded in the American way of life. Possibly one day it won't simply be that your device stops working. It could be that agents from the Mac/Pinko collective could come to your home using the registration information you gave them in order to buy your precious Iphone. In this hypothetical situation, they could then strap you to a chair and force you to watch "I'm a Mac" ads for hours or even days at a time.
